A waterfront arena with a boxing record
The arena’s official calendar documents the World Boxing Championships held from 4 to 14 September 2025. That event was an international championship programme, so it is useful evidence that the building can host serious boxing, but it should not be confused with a professional card or taken as an indication of any new date.
M&S Bank Arena is on Kings Dock beside Liverpool’s waterfront event campus. Older references may call it Echo Arena or Liverpool Arena. Those names all point to the same building, so use the current name when searching official listings and tickets.
Kings Dock and the waterfront route
Use the arena’s waterfront visitor directions for the final approach. The setting is open and can feel windy after dark, so dress for the weather on arrival and departure. The directions also help you distinguish the arena from neighbouring exhibition and convention buildings that sit close by.
Check live transport for your date and plan your return before the show. Liverpool is an easy city to enjoy, but a late event can limit options. If you are staying overnight, choose accommodation with a straightforward route back, and keep an eye on any event-day advice on road closures.
Check the upcoming fights list for dates before you book travel.
Seating for boxing
The arena is configured around the event, so a boxing show uses its own layout. Use the official seating plan attached to the event and look for floor, lower and upper blocks. If the plan shows a restricted view, take it seriously, because camera positions and ring entrances can affect certain seats.
In a waterfront arena of this type, upper seats can offer a calm view of the whole ring, while floor seats give an intense close-up. Think about whether you prefer to see tactics unfold or feel the atmosphere, then choose the block accordingly.
Official sales and the amateur-professional difference
Start from the arena’s What’s On page and follow the ticket link. A championship event may use different ticketing arrangements from a promoter’s show, so read the terms and what each ticket includes. We do not provide prices, and you should be wary of anyone promising guaranteed seats without evidence.

Accessibility
The arena’s access team and ticket seller are the right people to ask about wheelchair spaces, companion seats and step-free routes. Tell them the date of the event, because layouts can differ between a boxing show and other uses of the building.
Also check the route from arrival points to the doors. The waterfront setting is generally open, but distances still matter for anyone with limited mobility. Ask about drop-off points and lift availability if you plan to use them.
Getting value from the seat you choose
A seat that gives a clear view of the ring and the screens is the foundation of good value. Compare the available categories on the official plan and avoid assuming that the most expensive is automatically best. Row, angle and aisle position can matter as much as the block name.
For a long programme, comfort matters. Check leg room, how far you will walk to the concourse and whether you can easily leave and return. If you are watching a championship with several sessions, make sure you understand which sessions your ticket covers.
Planning the day around Liverpool
Liverpool’s waterfront gives you plenty to see before the show, but opening hours vary and queues can build on busy days. Decide where you will eat, and leave enough time for security. A rushed arrival can spoil the first bouts.
If you are travelling from another region, work out the return journey carefully. Rail timetables and late events do not always line up, so confirm the last convenient service. Taking a flexible approach can prevent a disappointing finish to an excellent night.
Before you go
Check the venue name, the date and the entrance on your ticket. Because the Kings Dock area includes other buildings, make sure your booking is for the arena. If you are comparing northern venues, read our pages for AO Arena, Co-op Live and Utilita Arena Sheffield.
Look at official channels for final updates, including any changes to times, entrances or ticketing. A quick check on the day can save a wasted trip.
Save your booking reference and your return plan on your phone before you leave.

The waterfront campus
Kings Dock shares an area with other waterfront buildings, and a map that simply says arena can be misleading. Look at the arena’s own visitor information and the name on your ticket. A quick check can prevent a long walk in the wrong direction on a cold evening.
If you are staying in the city, check the walk between your hotel and the arena in daylight. It may be easy to follow in summer but feel exposed in winter, and it helps to know where you can find shelter or a taxi if the weather turns.
