The North East’s arena on Arena Way
The official archive records Matchroom NXTGEN boxing in Newcastle, including coverage of Cyrus Pattinson’s home-city programme. That is a historical record, not a promise of a similar event, so always verify any current fixture with official sources.
Older articles may call the venue Metro Radio Arena or Newcastle Arena. Utilita branding is shared with arenas in Sheffield, Birmingham and Cardiff, so the city is the key identifier. If a listing only says Utilita Arena, look for Newcastle upon Tyne before booking.
Arriving at Arena Way
Use the Arena Way visitor guide for Newcastle upon Tyne, which should explain public transport, parking and walking routes. A boxing night is likely to bring a large crowd to the area, so treat the guidance as event-specific and check it near your date.
Travel home is worth planning, particularly if you are coming from outside the city or staying in Gateshead or elsewhere nearby. Confirm the last practical service and decide whether to leave before the final bout or wait for the crowd to disperse.
Check the upcoming fights list for dates before you book travel.
Reading the boxing seating plan
The ring is normally in the centre of the floor, with seating on the floor and tiers beyond. Use the event plan and note any restrictions. A seat that looks close on a standard map can be affected by production equipment, so look for specific notes.
Higher blocks can provide a calm view of the entire ring and a good angle on the screens. Lower blocks bring you nearer to the corners. Neither is best for everyone, so choose according to whether you want to study the contest or feel the noise.
Where to buy
Begin with the arena’s event page or the promoter’s announcement. Ticket sellers can differ between shows, and we do not publish prices because they are not fixed. Read the terms, check the delivery method and treat unverified resale offers with caution.
Our boxing ticket guide and cheap boxing tickets guide on the home page give general advice. Browse upcoming events below for fight dates and ticket information. If there are currently no upcoming boxing events listed, check back soon for new fight announcements and ticket updates.

Accessibility and practicalities
Disabled visitors should contact the arena or its ticket seller about wheelchair spaces, companion tickets and routes. Boxing layouts can differ from other events, so mention the specific show. Ask about drop-off and parking if either matters to you.
All visitors should read the bag policy, the entry terms and any age restrictions. Security queues can be long on popular nights, so give yourself time. Keep your ticket and ID ready, and agree a meeting point if you are in a group.
Spending sensibly on a regional fight night
Regional arena shows can offer good value when the home-town support creates a strong atmosphere. Even a mid-priced seat with a clear view may give a memorable night. Compare categories on the official plan and avoid assuming that the most expensive area is the best.
Include travel and food in your budget. If you are travelling from another region, rail fares and a hotel room may cost more than a ticket. A realistic total helps you decide whether to buy now or wait for more information.
Planning the night
Check the official door time and the plan for the bill, but accept that running orders can change. If a local fighter appears early on the card, arrive in good time. If you only want the main event, plan a buffer in case the programme runs differently.
Newcastle’s city centre has many places to eat, but busy evenings can mean queues. Book earlier or eat before the rush. Make sure your phone is charged because ticket entry and return travel checks both depend on it.
Before you travel
Confirm that your ticket names Utilita Arena Newcastle, the correct date and the entrance. Compare the other Utilita arenas if you are unsure, then check the city on the booking confirmation.
For other northern options, read the pages for Utilita Arena Sheffield, first direct bank arena in Leeds and M&S Bank Arena in Liverpool. They explain the differences in setting, travel and boxing layouts.
Keep your booking reference, the Arena Way address and your return plan on your phone before leaving. If you are travelling from outside Newcastle, check how you will reach the arena from your hotel or station and how you will return late at night. A group should agree on a meeting point and a plan for anyone who becomes separated in the crowd.
Compare with Utilita Arena Sheffield, first direct bank arena and M&S Bank Arena, or browse all UK boxing arenas.
Shared sponsor names
The Utilita name appears on several arenas, which is convenient for a sponsor but awkward for a fan. A confirmation email that says Utilita Arena without a city is not enough. Check the ticket for Newcastle and the Arena Way address before you pay.
If you plan a trip from another region, be careful when searching for hotels and trains. A search for Utilita Arena may default to another city, and a booking made in a hurry can be costly to change.
